Core F - Cellular and Synaptic Physiology

The Cellular and Synaptic Physiology Core allows investigators to determine if the basic attributes of synaptic transmission and synaptic plasticity are intact in their animal models. Core F will provide:

  • Characterizing synaptic function/cellular physiology in the hippocampus, cerebral cortex & cerebellum.
  • Baseline synaptic transmission
  • NMDA receptor function
  • Paired-pulse facilitation
  • Post-tetanic potentiation
  • Long-Term depression (LTD)
  • Long-term potentiation (LTP)
